Glory of Fellowland Description

Glory of Fellowland(GoF) is a browser based multiplayer online game (MMOG). Each tribe is controlled by a human player, there are no computer opponents in the game. Your purpose is to lead a small tribe to a great empire either by yourself or with a help from allies. The game never stops: when you close your browser, life in GoF goes on: resources are added, sciences researched, buildings constructed and units trained.

When you begin the game, you have four days before other tribes can attack you (Plus: peace). Additionally, one week mighty spell gives you a good start. Your first step is to establish a village and expand it by constructing the buildings. You will need to start researching sciences, and there are some quests which will give you ideas in which direction you should go. Soon, you'll be able to train units and cast spells, as well.

Different sciences will allow you to have additional features and let you do a lot more in GoF: build new buildings, train better units, trade, make diplomatic agreements, enslave conquered villages, spy, nominate other players to manage your vast empire...

You may choose your playing style: if you want to spend just a little time for playing, you may want to invest in Warehouse and City hall so you'll have enough space in warehouses and queue enough units and buildings. Plus: assistant enables more space in queue, too. Plus: peace gives you an opportunity to play only when you choose, letting your tribe live peacefully when you are not online.

Feature

- No need for downloads or installations, you play with your browser

- All basic features are free

- Easy to start with, you are guided along with different kind of quests. However, soon your game experience will deepen as you learn sciences which enable new features.

- You may choose your way of playing: there is room and suitable playing tactics for both casual and heavy players.

- No need to control your empire 24/7 - peace feature prevents other tribes from attacking so you don't need to wake up middle of night to fight for your village.

- You may do diplomatic agreements and let your friend lead part of your empire.

- No unfair AI, you play against other players.

- Lot's of content: tens of units, buildings and spells; few hundred sciences.

- Chat with other players via in-game chat.

Race

Humans are the easiest race to play, their skills are uniformly distributed. At the beginning they have numerous buildings to improve science production, which is a challenge for other races. Hobbits are for non-aggressive players and they have many defensive strengths. Elves with white magic have Guardian angel which is a good, basic, magical protection unit. Humans are strongly recommended for new players!

Location

Choose your village location away from the great militant tribes. As you view the world map more to south in many realms, you may more likely find a good place with other new players as neighbours. The main reason players quit playing is that their location sucks and they get assaulted continuously, hour by hour. It gets a while before you are able to fight against other tribes of the same race, so locating your village among the tribes of your race will give you some protection. Terrains with extra resources are always a good choice. Mountains are scarce with food, but they have a good defence bonus - presumably not the best place for your first village. There is a significant resource bonus given if the village is on a terrain suitable for your race. So, boring grassland is a good choice for humans...
